About Sendai Day Trips
This site is an independent guide to day trips from Sendai, Japan, and a comparison of the tours you can book for one: Matsushima bay days, Yamadera temple days, Zao Fox Village and Ginzan Onsen days, the Zao ropeway and the Okama crater, Hiraizumi and Geibikei Gorge, Naruko Gorge, winter snow monster tours and private guides. We do not operate or personally conduct these tours. The full line-up sits in the day trips from Sendai catalog.
Why It Exists
Some day trips from Sendai are a short train ride: Matsushima is about 40 minutes on the Senseki Line and Yamadera 50 minutes on the Senzan Line. Others, such as Zao Fox Village with Ginzan Onsen, or Ginzan in winter when day visitors need a reserved shuttle, are hard without a car. The listings rarely say which is which.
So every place is shown with its train option next to the tours that go there, and every tour with what its price covers: entries, lunch, the ropeway or only the guide.
Where the Figures Come From
Tour prices, ratings, review counts, itineraries and inclusions come from the listing on the platform that sells each tour. Entry fees, opening hours and seasons come from the temples and attractions themselves (Zuiganji, Yamadera, Chusonji, Zao Fox Village, the Zao Ropeway) and from the official tourist offices of Matsushima, Ginzan Onsen, Osaki City and the Miyagi and Yamagata prefectures. Dollar conversions use the European Central Bank reference rate.
When two sources disagree, the page gives the official one or leaves the figure out.
What You Will Not Find
There is no invented guide or local expert behind these pages, and no claim that anyone from the site joined a tour. Reviews shown are short excerpts from four and five star platform reviews. Train fares, bus fares and ropeway night prices are not printed where no official source gives them.
How the Site Is Paid For
The booking buttons are affiliate links to GetYourGuide and Viator, and the hotel links go through Stay22. If you book through one, the platform pays a commission and your price does not change. No operator pays for a place, a badge or the pick.
The details are on the affiliate disclosure page.
